5 Rethinking of Crime in Whoring with An Underage Girl: From a Perspective of Applying International Covenants
ZHAO He-jun
Crime of whoring with an underage girl, which caused debates among scholars during its establishment in penal code, has recently led to debates among people from all walks of life because of some well-publicized cases. More hold to repeal the crime of whoring with an underage girl, to incorporate it into the act of having sexual intercourse with an underage girl and to punish it as a crime of rape. From a perspective of applying international covenants, the claim of crime in whoring with an underage girl is indeed inappropriate. However, it is also incorrect to combine whoring with an underage girl with raping an underage girl. Considering all situations, it is the only right approach to repeal a crime in whoring with an underage girl and address it as a crime of forcing a person into prostitution.

ZHAO Min
Marital status agreements have emerged increasingly in varying forms while China's civil legislation has not made explicit provisions on the efficacy of these agreements and judicial practices have shown the provision of diverse definitions. Marital status agreements, as a means of women's salvation from experiencing domestic violence and extramarital affair, are different from the normal civil contract. However, marital status agreements that have been based on gender inequalities could give rise to intricate problems in actuality. Therefore, it is not through agreements but legislation, public policy as well as appropriate institutional arrangement that rights of women who have been violated can be truly protected.

19 Gender Analysis of Reforms of Retirement Age
LIU Ming-hui
The author examines the "four schemes" of retirement age reform from a gender perspective and demonstrates that the "small step gradual scheme", the "scheme of promoting in separate steps", and the "soft approach to retirement scheme" have all neglected the existing misunderstanding of gender equality. This paper insists that primary goal of reforms of retirement age and its theory and legislative technicality lie in the elimination of gender inequality in a "dual track elastic retirement scheme". This scheme should meet different needs and interests of women and men workers on different posts, respect their rights to early retirement based on recognition of bottom line of their consumption and years of employment, and consider the existence of the intensifying pressure of employment and drawing on pension fund. It is desirable to establish a policy to combine voluntary retirement and compulsory retirement age.

ZHANG Zai-sheng, LI Xiang-fei
This paper reviews the existing research in China that contains empirical analyses and concludes that: for women civil servants, education, income, equality ideals, self-efficacy of men and women have significant effects on individual support of the claim of same retirement age. Traditional view of "men dominating the outside while women dominating the inside of households," and work family conflict are significant obstacles to individual support of the above claim. The traditional view of gender roles plays a mediating role between age, education, income and work family conflict, as well as between self-efficacy and the support of claim of same retirement age.

78 Narrative of Love and Desire in the Gender Politics of 1950's-1970's
LIU Chuan-xia
After the triumph of the revolution, to maintain social order and stability and as well, to gather and concentrate physical efforts in serving revolutionary construction, State ideology intensified infiltration and control of individual's love life and desire. Revolutionary ethics proposed to suppress love and personal pleasure and advocated desire and sacrifice for revolution. However, from a perspective of gender politics, whether in revolutionary literary narrative of suppressing love and desire during "the 17 years", or in radical literary narrative completely removing love and desire during the Cultural Revolution period, the gender position of a writer and his/her tacit value judgment would still likely affected his/her understanding of gender roles and the construction of both sexes in writing. Especially, male writers' description in revolutionary texts might take a male-centered position, while women writers might have made subtle breakthroughs within the bound of revolutionary stipulations, attempting to find reasonable path for women emancipation and to seek a more open space for women.
