Abstract:The notion of "educated women" as a gender issue is the continuation of the past legends of talented women in contemporary society. To trace its historical roots, it is clear that male-centered ideology made use of the legends of talented women to create contemporary "educated women." An outcome of this creation is to command and control educated women with gender-based power. The penetration of contemporary commercial culture has reinforced the vulgar and signified aspects of the creation. The incidence of "educated women" has not only represents the situations of contemporary educated women but also suggests the significance of women raising self-consciousness and liberating the self.
