Abstract This paper discusses that though women form an important segment of human resources in science and technology, there are issues that are not to be neglected and that hinder the development of women in science, the most outstanding of which is the shortage of women at senior levels as women form only five percent of senior personnel. This paper adopts qualitative methods to study views of senior women personnel and their male counterparts to reflect the growth of women personnel in science and their development tendency, barriers to their growth as well as policy required for their advancement.
