Abstract FDI is increasingly influencing the employment and wage distribution between men and women in host countries, an issue that has attracted the attention of economists. This article first summarizes and reflects on the theoretical perspectives on the mechanisms of FDI that influence the rise of gender inequality in labor markets in China, especially in relation to gender employment and wage gaps based on a review of the available research. It will end with a discussion of the prospects in future research.
