An Empirical Research on Factors Affecting Individual Support of the Same Retirement Age among Female Civil Servants

Abstract:This paper reviews the existing research in China that contains empirical analyses and concludes that: for women civil servants,education, income, equality ideals, self-efficacy of men and women have significant effects on individual support of the claim of same retirement age. Traditional view of "men dominating the outside while women dominating the inside of households," and work family conflict are significant obstacles to individual support of the above claim. The traditional view of gender roles plays a mediating role between age, education, income and work family conflict, as well as between self-efficacy and the support of claim of same retirement age.
