Abstract:Women in Guangdong in 1921 took lead in the second movement of Women's Right to Political Participation in the Chinese Republican Era. During the movement, women had widespread Public opinion support and the support of revolutionary parties. To improve political participation, women took part in the Parliamentary debates at the provincial level. These women together with their demand for the right to political participation were ultimately defeated. This paper suggests that on the one hand most of the provincial representatives held conservative ideas about Women's Political Participation, and on the other hand the women themselves had diverse emotional expressions which thus weakened their tactics.
