Abstract:Zhang Xue-cheng's view on women is rich and complex and full of contradictions. Zhang's view of women is mainly represented by his idea of Women's Studies and biographies of women. On the one hand, he admired and commended women for their abilities. On the other hand, he opposed women for getting out of their boudoir, and emphasized traditional ideas about women. The intrinsic contradiction of Zhang's view of women is not only the contradiction of his own ideas, but also the conflict of new and old thinking.
