Abstract:The paper examines the impacts of "painless abortion procedures" based on interviews with 14 women who underwent painless abortion and their boyfriends or husbands and discusses the following issues: firstly, the propaganda of "painless abortion procedures" has deprived women's rights to express their bodily and psychological sufferings, and women's pregnancy has become an object in the medicalized discourse. Secondly, the distorted knowledge of "abortion" exposes women to both physical and ethical risks. The paper thus recommends a ban on the various advertisements of "painless abortion procedures" by related departments.
