Abstract:Whether it is at home or abroad, there is a tendency among academia to regard "Gender Communication Studies", "Feminist Media Studies", and "Gender and Communication Studies" as one. In fact, there are differences as well as linkages among them. This paper identifies fundamental epistemological differences among the three specialized fields based on analysis of the ontology and the paradigm in the historical development of "Gender Communication Studies".
