Research on Managers’ Gender and Compensation Gap for China’s Private Listed Companies |

Abstract This paper firstly investigates managers’ gender and compensation gap for China’s private listed companies. The results show that China's private listed companies do have the gender difference of compensation which is significantly beneficial to male. However, corporate performance for the companies has a male CEO has no significantly difference with those companies has a female CEO. Furthermore, the core managers' compensation gap in the companies has a male CEO is much higher than those companies has a female CEO, which means that male CEOs like competitive environment while female CEOs like cooperate environment.
